A life-long collector, Cynthia has parlayed her love of eclectic objects with her love of the hunt to create a cabinet of curiosities in the showcase she maintains at Mr. Ryder & Company. Under the name "1 Bird in the Hand," she is always on the trail here and abroad in search of her prey. The most successful hunts yield items she didn't know she was looking for but speak to her, revealing their inner magic. Cynthia's wonderful sense of design results in quirky, offbeat groupings of pieces which play off each other and somehow become instantly compatible.
Cynthia's goal is to share that elusive quality and inspire those who are looking for something out of the ordinary. Mr. Ryder and Company offers the perfect venue to allow that special magic to happen. Shown here from a group of several offered for sale are three botanical wall charts from the late 1800s. These rare charts are made of linen with many hand-painted details. The colors are extremely vivid. Very interesting indeed!
Cynthia is recently back from a buying expedition in France and has returned with many treasures in tow. A vintage collection of mounted butterflies, French glassware, chalkware, and bistro items are among the items in her showcase which are awaiting discovery and a new home.
